You can now change your vehicle on your active permit

If you require a change of vehicle for your permit, you no longer need to cancel your permit. You can log into your parking account and submit a request for a change of vehicle. You can find out more about this by clicking the details button below.

On your Account Summary screen, click on the ‘View’ button next to the permit you wish to change. On the next screen, select the ‘Change Vehicle details’ tab and follow the instructions. You will need to upload one proof of vehicle ownership for your new vehicle, such as your vehicle registration document (V5C) or your insurance certificate and schedule, showing your name, address and new vehicle registration number.

You may have to pay an additional fee if your new vehicle has a higher CO2 emission rate. If the CO2 emission is lower you may receive a refund, which will be credited to your account within 28 days of us processing your request.

If you submit a cancellation of your permit and your permit is then cancelled, you will not be able to use the change of vehicle function.

Daily temporary parking permit

Our daily temporary parking permits are ‘virtual’, paperless permits. This means that you will not receive a paper permit to put in your vehicle. Instead, parking officers will be able to check on the system if a car has a valid permit.

Once we receive your application, it will be assessed within three working days. If you start your permit straightaway you can park before your application is approved.

Documents you will need to apply

You must include one proof of current address. You must also provide an additional document if you live in a car free property. If you do not include the right documents, we will reject your application.

Proof of address:

  • Council tax bill for the current year.
  • UK Driving Licence (including a provisional or paper licence).
  • Gas, Electric or Telephone landline bill dated within 12 weeks of your application.
  • Registered Social Landlord (Housing Association) Tenancy agreement dated within 28 days of your application.
  • Property Completion Letter dated within 28 days of your application.

Car free property

  • A contract, quote or job-sheet to show that building work, repairs or maintenance has to be carried out

If you are not sure how to scan and upload your documents, read our tips on uploading documents.
