Business parking permit
Our business parking permits are ‘virtual’, paperless permits. This means that you will not receive a paper permit to put in your vehicle. Instead, parking officers will be able to check on the system if a car has a valid permit.
Once we receive your application, it will be assessed within three working days. If you start your permit straightaway you can park before your application is approved.
Documents you need to apply
If the employee is the insurance policyholder or a named driver
The application must be submitted in their name. The applicant must provide:
A letter from their employer, signed and dated within the last 28 days, which must:
- include the company registration number
- include the employee's full name and job title
- explain why the permit is required for the employee's day-to-day duties.
In addition, the applicant must provide
- A valid motor insurance policy showing they are covered for business use.
If the company is the insurance policyholder
The application must be submitted in the name of an administrator or director. The applicant must provide:
A letter from the company, signed and dated within the last 28 days, which must:
- include the company registration number
- include the applicant's full name and job title
- include the vehicle registration number
- explain why the permit is required for the company's day-to-day operations.
In addition, the applicant must provide:
- A valid motor insurance policy that includes business use.

How to apply and pay
You can now apply and pay for all parking permits online through our parking permit system. You can check how we work out the cost of your permit here.
To apply for any permit, you must first set up an account. When registering, choose ‘Business’ as your customer type to apply for a public service permit.
Once we receive your application, it will be assessed within three working days. If you start your permit straightaway you can park before your application is approved. Once you have created an account, please read the terms and conditions and then complete the online application.
