Resident Funeral Waivers

Funeral Waivers allow family members and friends attending a funeral service or ceremony within the borough to park their vehicles.

Funeral waivers are not available solely for attendance at a wake, reception, memorial gathering, or other social event.

Before applying, please make sure your read the funeral waiver terms and conditions.

Eligibility

A family member or friend must submit an online application.

To be eligible for funeral waivers, at least one of the following conditions must be met:

  • The deceased was a resident of the borough; or
  • The funeral service or ceremony will take place within the borough (for example, at a church, mosque, temple, or other recognised place of worship).

Supporting Document Required

You must provide one of the following documents as evidence:

  • Death Certificate
  • Medical Certificate of Cause of Death issued by a GP or hospital
  • Certificate for Burial or Cremation (Green Form)

Processing Time and Collection

We aim to process applications within three working days. Please ensure you submit your application in good time before the funeral date.

Funeral waivers must be collected in person. We will contact the applicant by email when the waivers are ready for collection. The person collecting the waivers must provide proof of identity.
